Mars // Samurai REMIXES

Samurai (DANDYskills remix)
Samurai (Karl Sav remix)
Samurai (Takomo remix)
Release: Sep' 09

1st up is the mix from DANDYskills, these guys have really started to come into their own of late and this mix once again demonstrates that they are on the up and up.
Tight breakbeats and a lovely filtered lead take you up to the moody 1st breakdown, this uses the vocal hook to excellent effect before dropping back into those punchy drums. The electro esque lead opens up and plenty of edits and fx ensure interest is kept high throughout this driving main section of the track. The 2nd break is an eery affair that has a wicked build to the 2nd drop, introducing plenty more edits and a wonky second leadline the track roles out perfectly to it's conclusion.

Next up we have the Karl Sav remix, slowing things down, this mix has more atmosphere than most planets manage to hold! The track features crisp, stripped back drums running alongside an ever present, growling bass. Superb use of melody on the strings and other synths give this track a real musicality rarely heard in the dance music world. Karl Sav has been tipped by many as one to watch and this track once again showcases his talents in a different light, whilst this track will certainly work well on many a dancefloor it deserves to be listened to intently at home as well as the level of depth in this track is astounding.

Last but by no means least, the Takomo remix of Samurai is pure dirty breakbeat. A quiet and moody intro gives way to a filtered breakbeat that builds the
scene perfectly for the 1st drop. Here we see the tracks signature, filthy bass start to show its powerful and driving presence. When the track drops for the 1st time
many a dancefloor is going to go mental with the heads down, pumping bass and old skool breakbeats giving this a massive amount of energy. The 2nd breakdown see Takomo give a nod to the Dubstep crew before stripping it right back to those moody pads and vocals and that evil bass. The 2nd drop sees Takomo manage to pack in even more energy as he brings in some extra percussion on top of things to really drive this banger towards its inevitable end.

XSSR once again bring us a diverse and quality package that is sure to have something for everyone!
